Bigshot vs Bigkick

My Bigkick died last night the handle snapped right off.
I was able to get my plates out with a pair of pliers.
I have had it for a good number of years it lead a good life
does anyone know if there is a difference between
the Bigshot and the Bigkick and if so what
is it? Seems the Bigkick is a little cheap from the
web searches I have done.....
What did cutting machine do you have?

  1. I did have the original Big Shot but it was so heavy so gave it to my daughter and bought e Big Kick both great........I do have a Vagabond now for 3 years but still keep my Big Kick because don't need power to use it only man power (LOL) but both just great....yep things do wear out....and that's a good thing that you used til it did don't you just laugh when someone says like they've had thus and so for years and years but it's been sitting on the shelf collecting dust.....these are the best stories ever....just make sure you use a coupon......and have fun shopping.

  2. I love my big shot. It is heavy but it works sooooo well. I will buy the vagabond, but still keep my big shot. It is worth the money and built well.

  3. I only know my Cuttlebug. It gets used almost every day and it's still going strong. I've sometimes wished for something bigger so I will read the responses with interest.

  4. I only have my Cuttlebug, but looked at the Spellbinders Grand Caliber before. Wish I could help with the others! I still love my Expression and Cameo! Good luck deciding on a new one!

  5. I have a Cuttlebug, Grand Calibur and just purchased a Big Shot. I had a Vagabond...two actually, and they both died. Do not buy them - not worth the money. My GC has been a huge disappointment, too. I've had to crack it open so many times to try to fix it. I only use it for the larger dies that don't fit into other machines. I love my Cuttlebug so much but decided to try the Big Shot since I had the magnetic base for the Vagabond and I love how it holds the paper in place. I love it so far. It does an awesome job. I'm still not sure how to emboss with it...I had it down to a science with the Cuttlebug, but it's my die cutting machine of choice at the moment :)

  6. I have a BIGkick and it works wonderfully. Have had it for quite some time. I also have a Tim Holtz Vagabond. There is a gal, Dr. Sonia, and she has a tutorial on how she took apart her BIGkick or BIGshot (not recalling which).

  10. I have two Cuttlebug machines - one I purchased- the other one I won - I love it! I use a magnetic piece when I want to hold my die down to cut - I learned this from you Tube tutorial a long time ago - I have the long die bases A, B, C [the white base as well as the cutting/embossing acrylic pieces] - I also have the original size cutting acrylic pieces and the white base that came with the Cuttlebug - best investment I ever made - and happy to have a spare on hand as well!

  11. I love my Cheery Lynn Crossover machine. Takes 8"w paper. The rollers inside are solid metal instead of tubed metal for a more even distribution of pressure.
    Customer service is great.
    Have a great day
